Issues Opening Menu Help
Welcome to ISSUES! This program is a way of communicating ideas so that people from all different levels of an organization can work on "problems" together, without stress or anxiety. The structure of this program will make sure that no person, department, or project is threatened or belittled.
ISSUES is ANONYMOUS - SHARES INFORMATION - creates REAL-TIME INTELLIGENCE for management - provides a NONBINDING and NON-CONFRONTIVE format for NEGOTIATION - fosters a sense of OWNERSHIP and COMMITMENT to policy - builds TWO-WAY LOYALTY - and RESOLVES CONFLICT.
The first step is to name an Issue. An Issue is a subject that a manager, employee, or coworker would like to have considered by a larger group of people. Whether the subject is parking, pay, or policy, begin by giving it a name. When you return to the opening screen, please use your cursor arrows or mouse to highlight the word "Issues" and push ENTER. Now you can Add a new Issue or review a Current Issue. Whatever you do, use F1 for Help and have fun.
PAST ISSUES Past Issues are Issues that have been all the way through the process and have come to a conclusion. You are welcome to use them as reference material.
Sometimes an Issue comes out different the second time around. If you would like to have an Issue reconsidered, begin by selecting Add Issue from the Main Menu.
The program gets confused by identical titles. Please give the "second time around" Issue a title that is different in some small way. For example:
Same Issue Again
Same Issue II
Almost the Same Issue ADD ISSUE This HELP is about Adding an Issue. The flashing cursor in the box labeled ISSUE TITLE is where you type a title that says what the Issue is about. For example:
Pay and Benefits Pooling Sick Leave Music in the Workplace Product Improvement Employee Parking Spaces Cost Reduction
Next, move the cursor to the DESCRIBE ISSUE Box. Push F10 and type a few lines about why this is an Issue. Use the HELP.
Beneath DESCRIBE ISSUE are two boxes. One is labeled DATE TO LOCK AND BEGIN COMPARISON PERIOD and the other is LENGTH OF COMPARISON PERIOD IN DAYS.
These are set by default. When you are more comfortable with this program, you might find need to change the LOCK DATE and the length of the COMPARISON PERIOD. Until then, leave them alone. SELECT ISSUE TO EDIT If you are the author of an Issue, you can edit your Issue Description, change the Date to Lock and Begin Comparison Period and/or the Length of the Comparison Period in Days.
Push Esc, scroll to the desired Issue, and then push ENTER. USER PASSWORD You can change your Password!
