Three centuries had passed since the time of troubles, when the Antitechs destroyed every trace of technology they could find. Joen didn't know hunting was forbidden on the long dormant volcano until the priests reverently tossed him off the rim for angering the god that lived inside. Hubert, the last self-aware "metal-man" on the planet, was left behind in the great exodus.
