Hardware
Here at Overall Technology we consider our primary product to be the ongoing delivery
of exceptional service to our customers. We've only reluctantly
expanded to providing hardware as well as software and services in order to ensure
that our customers receive the full benefit of our products.
While the software components of our products can be adapted to work with a wide variety
of hardware, our experience has been that the tech support costs of troubleshooting and
adapting systems assembled by others nearly always exceeds any illusion of savings in the
initial hardware costs. We've found that the only cost effective way to reliably deliver
the robust performance our customers expect is by offering complete ready to use turnkey
systems.
Overall builds its turnkey Linux systems out of high quality standard
components in order to ensure reliable performance, and to minimize
compatibility problems. Many "name brand" system vendors build their products out of
proprietary components in order to artificially lock their customers into their brand.
Only after falling for a deceptively competitive initial price does the customer
discover that they have to buy any peripherals and repair parts from the original vendor
at inflated prices. All too often, otherwise still valuable systems must be scrapped
because of the high cost of proprietary repair parts - or simply because the
vendor arbitrarily decides to stop carrying replacement parts for its previous products.
Overall intends to earn its customer's continued business by delivering
exceptional service, and refuses to resort such underhanded deceptions. In the unlikely
event that you decide to no longer make use of Overall's exceptional administration
and support services, any system built by Overall can be repaired and/or upgraded
using widely available "off the shelf" components and peripherals.
