PBX Functions and Features
Sophisticated Call Routing
Incoming calls can be directed to specific voice menu selected extensions, ring groups of extensions with the call being connected to the first extension to answer, or to try a series of extensions in sequence - or some combination of these functions. Calls can be transferred directly between extensions, or parked until they can be picked up by the desired extension. Outgoing telco calls are connected to the first available outside line.
Call Filtering
Filter incoming calls based on caller ID, type of call, number/extension dialed, etc. The PBX can be configured to generate a "special information tone" to block telemarketers who try to trick victims into answering their calls by concealing their caller Ids.
Teleconferencing
PBX supports multiple virtual conference rooms where callers using a mixture of analog, ethernet, and software phones can participate in group telephonic discussions.
Private Phone System
The sophisticated telephony switching capabilities of our PBX can greatly facilitate internal communications by turning the simple extensions scattered around a typical office or home into a state-of-the-art internal phone system.
Personalized Voice Mailboxes
The system can support hundreds of individual voice mailboxes, each with its own unique box number, password, and busy/unavailable greeting messages. Users can record new mailbox greeting messages any time they please through the Comedian voice mail menus
Email Notification of Voice Mail Messages
Optionally notify users by email of messages in their voice mailboxes - and even attach an audio file of the message, allowing users to monitor their voice mail from anywhere their email can reach them.
Record Voice main messages and menus
The PBX Services Menu provides an easy way to record new menus and greetings from any authorized extension.
Intercom/public address system
Calls to the "console extension" can be routed to whatever external speakers are connected to the PBX server's sound card. (Powering a building scale public address system would require an external amplifier.)
Dynamic Behavior
PBX can alter its behavior based on the time of day, day of the week, and/or calendar date.
